Latest Email

Sis. Lloyd's latest email is quite lengthy. Probably the longest email we've gotten to date. I'm going to be posting the whole thing, so it may take some time to read through.
Alright, here it goes:

"I don't know what to say. I love you guys!
Sister Lloyd"

There you have it. I know it was a very lengthy read. Hope you all have a good week, and a great new years!

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!

Yesterday we were able to Skype with Sis. Lloyd for almost an hour. She's doing really well.
She told us a pretty funny story too. Her and her companions were out caroling, and stopped at the home of an elderly gentlemen. He can't see too well. He loved their caroling so much that he told them to wait and he had something for them. He comes back with a loaf of bread........ covered in mold. Of course, since he can't see all that well, he didn't realize that it had molded. Sis. Lloyd said they took the bread anyways, and gave it to the Elders because they didn't know what to do with it. The world may never know what happened to that moldy loaf of bread.
She loves and misses everyone!

Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone, Jess here with the latest from Sister Lloyd :) We get to Skype her later this week for Christmas, and we are super excited!

This week things are slow and I cried on Saturday when sister Petersen
went home.
I'm going to the Browns for Christmas Eve so you might get more pics
from them.

But ya. I miss you all and love you.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

So, something that happened this week:

We went to teach an older lady that lives in a retirement complex, but when we got there, her next door neighbor was going crazy! He was banging on the walls and we could hear him talking to himself through the wall. I felt really bad for him. They had to call the police and the apartment manager to let them in to take him away :/ I felt bad for the lady we were going to teach because once the police were called, we had to leave. It was a super weird day. I am double covering and one of the wards is a YSA branch.

Update

Sister Lloyd's been kind of under the weather this past week, but besides that she seems to be doing good.

It's kinda cold here. Colder than I was expecting.  We live in a little house, which leaks cold air from outside haha. Today I'm going to tape up the windows. Also, yesterday I was sick. Everyone here is sick. I have a cold :/ this week has been good though. Lots of service.

First Roseville Email

Hi everyone!

I currently have two trainers. Sister Petersen and sister Carlisle. (God thought I would need the extra help) haha sister Petersen goes home in the middle of a transfer so they needed all of us. I am in Gridley. I always thought PG was small but in comparison its huge haha. There are only about 7000 people here. The wards here are super small I was kinda shocked. But the people are super nice.

Oh, I got my iPad! So I can read all your emails throughout the week.

We have a car. The temperature is cold but not cold enough for snow. We have a few investigators, but most of the people we work with are inactive.

I miss you all!!! I love you guys so much.

Love Sister Lloyd

Email from the Mission President

Sister Lloyd's Mission President sent out an email to the families of all the returning and new missionaries. Here is a summary of what they said about the new missionaries:

"Dear Missionaries and Families,

November 2015 Arrivals in our Mission
The mission has been blessed by the arrival of these enthusiastic missionaries from all over the country.
Their expectations are high and our prayer is to help them realize these lofty goals.
They are in our mission to baptize and bring others unto Christ"

Happy Thanksgiving

We got a text message and a photo from a family in Sister Lloyd's first area:

"We had the sisters over for Thanksgiving dinner! They are all lovely ladies. :) We're glad they're in Gridley. Love the Browns."

I'm glad to see that she's doing well, and being fed. A million thanks to the Brown's for sending us the photo and taking such good care of our missionary!

She Made It

Latest update from Sister Lloyd:

(There are 6 Sisters and 3 Elders that went to Roseville with her)

Hey everyone! I'm in Roseville!! It's a little cold right now and it was raining earlier, but it's nice. I'm pretty tired because I only got an hour of sleep last night, but that is ok because they are having us going to bed early tonight. They told me I could email you guys right now. For some reason they think you guys would want to know if I'm still alive and made it here hahaha :) The flight here was good it was really pretty. There are a lot of farms out here, they actually grow a lot of rice, which I thought was weird, but you know... whatever makes you happy. Anyways I'm going to get off now because I can't think of anything else to write.

Love you all,

Sister Lloyd.

Sister Lloyd's first email from the MTC

Heidi's first email from the MTC has arrived! It wasn't very long, she has been pretty busy.
Sister Lloyd's very first ever MTC companion is a Polynesian sister named Sister Vaitohe (vi-toe-he).

Here is a summary of her email:

The MTC is ok, the food here isn't as good as Mom's though. Oh and we can't high five. Only handshakes are allowed! Which kinda bugs, but oh well. I'm learning a lot here, but honestly I can't wait to be in the field, which reminds me, I am leaving the MTC on the 24th of November.
I love you guys so so much and miss all of you.
-Sister Lloyd

She said that she is not going to email everyone on her list until she is out in the field, so if you didn't receive an email this week, don't feel bad.

It's Official

Whelp, it's official. Sister Lloyd has entered the MTC as of this afternoon. I wasn't able to be there in person, like I had been wanting to, but I was able Skype her as she left. I'm not sure I've ever cried so much in my life. I know she is doing what the Lord wants her to do, and she will do great things in California. Roseville will have no idea what hit them.
